Bart Hawkins has been dedicated to the concept of independent filmmaking for almost two decades.
As a producer, he holds a degree in motion picture and video production from Brooks Institute of Photography and a degree in zoology and art from Winona State University.
Early in his career, Bart lived with the Hopis in Arizona while he made two films: SIPAULOVI and HOPILAVAYI. HOPLIAVAYI was screened at the Directors Guild of America and was awarded the Roy Webster Dean Film Grant Award, the CINE Golden Eagle Award, the Townsend Tenacity Award, and a grant from Brooks Institute of Photography.
Since then, Bart has built his reputation on honesty, effectiveness and creative wit that commands attention
and challenges the conformist experience. He is dedicated to the intuitive and
spiritual in all forms, he offers insight, boldness and sensitivity to his
projects.
Bart has produced and directed award winning documentaries, commercials, music videos, TV shows, and worked on several independent films.
